Producer’s Statement
I was Directing a film in Paris and got an email from a very close actor friend of mine, "When are WE going to make a film?" I thought he was joking and facetiously replied, "Whenever YOU want". That's when all hell broke loose. Months of emails and phone calls later, I realized that my very determined "little brother" Brett Golov, was either serious or had serious OCD...Finally-- I asked him, "What've you got"? It turned out he had a clothing store, a condo, friends with a hotel, diner, boat, bar and the list went on. So I wrote the script based on the latter, tailored characters to actor friends in mind while Brett secured assets, locations and did some creative financing. Only a few months later with lead actor friends on board, SAG, the Palm Beach Film Commission, and local businesses (namely,Whiz Miller of Hotel Biba) supporting us, we were set to start production in June, 2006-- That would be hurricane season in south Florida! Let’s just say Mother Nature gained herself the most worthy credit for not raining on our parade...Then there was Ellen, of Ellen Jacoby Casting. Amazing lady-- Her sense of humor rounded out our cast perfectly with such an eclectic group of actors. "My left brain" and AC, Petrina Easton, showed me Palm Beach, kept me focused and helped find the shots. Lynn Rossi created costumes out of thin air, brought in props galore, and also brought us Caroline O'Brien extraordinaire-- Our UPM and 1st. AD who made ten pages a day a reality. With just a five person crew, 180 scenes to shoot in 11 days and in 95% humidity, we somehow, with our amazing actors, brought these crazy characters to life...Actor Reg E. Cathey was shooting "The Wire" and made a special trip down on the weekend. Ryan Matthew needed major surgery, and opted to work on our film first. Due to other film commitments, Christine Lakin condensed seven days of work into five. Because we lost an actor to a pilot, we acquired Erik Dellums (thanks to Reg) at the last minute. Erik had the script for four days before filming three different characters! My childhood friend and actor Sasha Jenson, graciously suggested Michael DeLuise for the part of CARL. Needing Michael on location the longest, he had some days off-- Michael showed up to the set every day helping anyway he could. On behalf of my friend and 11:Eleven Pictures partner Brett "LENNY" Golov, we thank the cast, crew, friends and family who truly believed-- Making the "Moment to Moment" creation of PATSY realized...
